Q: What is a 3D metal key?
A: A 3D metal key is a blank key with a 3D cast key head. The
creative key head can be shaped to mimic a cartoon character, an
animal, a golf ball, a baseball mitt, a guitar, a camera or
anything. The metal key head can be plated in silver or gold, or
antique bronze. The designs are molded on the key head with thin
metal walls and recessed areas which are filled with color enamel.
Q: How are 3D metal keys manufactured?
A: A 3D metal key is a comination of a key blade and a key head. The
key blade is made of brass and plated in silver color. The key head
is made of zinc alloy. According to the designs, the surface of the
key head is casted with a plurality of indentations which are
filled with different colors. There is a square hole inside the key
head to receive the key blade. Our workers apply an appropriate
glue into the hole and insert the key blade. The combination is
extremely strong. Color enamel is filled into the intentations, and
heated to solifiy. Enamel filling is the most difficult process.

Q: What is the price of each 3D metal key?
A: We do not have a fixed unit price. The prices of 3D metal keys
depend on the key styles, shapes, sizes and order quantities. But
we will surely offer our best prices. Please send us an inquiry
with your detailed requirements and your expected order quantity.
Q: What kind of design is suitable for a 3D key head?
A: The design can not be too complicated and can not have gradients.
The design shall be made of sections of uniform colors. Logos and
texts meeting the above requirements are ok.
Q: How can I get samples of 3D metal keys?
A: If you just want to get a few random samples, we can offer to send
you several 3D key samples, free of charge. All you have to pay is
the shipping cost. However, if you want to see samples of your own
design, we’ll have to make a new mold and you’ll need to pay for
the mold (US$200 per design). Also, you might need to pay for a new
mold for the key blade (US$300) if you’re ordering a key style that
we do not have ready stock. Currently we only have ready-stock KW1
and SC1 key blanks.
Q: Do I get a refund for the mold cost if I place an order after the
A: Yes, we will refund the mold cost you have paid as long as your
order quantity meets our refund policy. The key head mold cost of
$200 will be refunded if your order quantity is 5000 keys or more.
The key blank mold cost of US$300 will be refunded when your
accumulated order quantity reaches 20,000 keys. Of course, the
total of 20,000 keys can be divided into multiple designs and

A: Molding and sampling of 3D keys with ready stock key blanks
normally takes around 15 days. If a new key blank shall be sampled,
it will take approximately 20 days.
Q: How long does the production take?
A: After confirmation of samples, production will take 10 to 30 days
depending on the total quantity and number of designs.
Q: How do you pack the 3D metal keys?
A: Normally we will pack each key into a poly bag and 50 or 100 keys
in a bigger poly bag. Each carton will contain 500 or 600 keys
depending on different sizes. If a customer requires a special
packing style, for example, with a custom printed backing card, we
can arrange that by charging an additional packing cost.
Q: How are the keys shipped to my address?
A: For order quantities of less than 10,000 keys, we would recommend
courier, such as DHL, FedEx, EMS, TNT, SF-Express etc, which will
take less than 10 days to arrive depending on the remoteness of
your address. For large order quantities exceeding 10,000 keys, sea
